Boise Bully Breed Rescue

Mosie and Bethany
Pocatello, ID

SENIOR BONDED PAIR LOOKING FOR ROOM AND BOARD IN EXCHANGE FOR LOTS OF LOVE
MOSIE & BETHANY found themselves at the shelter after a fire damaged the only home that they knew and their owner could not keep them at his new housing.
MOSIE & BETHANY are both housetrained, and know sit, down, and come. They both love people. They are OK with dogs, but no cats in their future. Both are healthy, spayed, and have current vaccines.
BETHANY - Happy-go-lucky, outgoing, smiley 8 year old blend of pit bull and Labrador who just wants to be loved and given attention.
MOSIE - 12 year old chunky monkey blend of pit bull and sharpei who loves to 'hang out' and be part of a pack. She will need gentle, regular exercise and an intentional diet.

Meathead
Clarkson, WA

Kudos to the Clarkston Veterinary Clinic in Clarkston, Washington who first met MEATHEAD on September 28 after he had been hit by a car and sustained severe injuries to his back feet. MEATHEAD’s owners were unable to provide the care that he needed, so they surrendered him to the clinic. MEATHEAD is now looking for a forever home after getting his second chance by this clinic.
As you can imagine, losing your owners and being in a lot of pain, MEATHEAD was not as gracious to his rescuers as he could have been. He showed signs of aggression and bit the technician and doctor during one of the many bandage changes he endured.
Since he has recovered some and is feeling better, MEATHEAD’s attitude is much-improved. Vet staff no longer have issues handling him, and he no longer shows any signs of aggression.
MEATHEAD is now ready for his forever home. He is fine with cats and other dogs, but a home without small kids would be best for him. His feet are still healing, so even accidentally stepping on thim may cause him to use his mouth on someone.
Please consider opening your home and heart to this pup that really didn’t have a say in where he finds himself. An offer for a foster home would be nice too.

Joe
Caldwell, ID

JOE is a smart 5 year old cookie who learns quickly. He’s house-trained. He already knows sit, high-five, spin, down and many more tricks. He’s tried and enjoyed urban mushing with a dog scooter.
Even though some people in his past have done him wrong, JOE has yet to meet a person that he doesn’t like. He’s very affectionate and eager to please. While at the shelter, he has never re-directed toward a person, even when worked up about another cat or dog. Bonus...JOE absolutely adores children and has been around ages 2 to 12 with no issues...Actually enjoys interacting with them and doesn’t steal their food.
JOE’s secret career goal is agility master, so he is great at spinning in the air and getting out of harnesses. To stay in shape, he has practiced leaping onto counter tops in a single bound, and is smart enough to find out how to do other unwanted acrobatics. He’ll need a leader to give him boundaries to prevent any more of these antics.
JOE currently lives in a vet kennel, but has had some bad experiences early on with being placed in a plastic crate. Because he does learn quickly, he could probably learn to hang out in a crate with time and training.
JOE is recommended for an active person/family who is able to commit to him as an only pet. JOE won’t ever be an off-leash dog to take to the river or on a hike in a crowded area, but if you are looking for a project dog and know how to channel JOE’s energy for good, for learning, on-leash, and keep him focused when other animals are around, JOE might be your guy.

Gage
Troy, VA

Hi I’m GAGE!
I entered the Fluvanna shelter in Virginia over a year ago and learned that it takes more than a pretty face to find a forever home.

This is what I have to offer...I’m a goofy 6 year old boy who loves to play with sticks during my walks. Sometimes I get too excited during walks and will try to jump on you or try to play tug with the leash, but a forever home with lots of walks and some positive redirect training will help.
I love big beds and know how to relax. I’m good with other dogs, house-trained, crate-trained, and know how to “sit” on command. Because I am a big boy at 70 pounds with a lot of energy, I need a home with no small children.
I’m healthy except for some skin issues, but medicated baths and allergy medication are working wonders. Oh yeah, I absolutely hate getting my nails done, so might need a pro for that. I’m up-to-date with my vaccines, am already neutered, and am heart worm negative.
Please share my story to let others know that I’m not just a pretty face.

Bryce
Troy, VA

Hi I’m BRYCE!
I entered the Fluvanna shelter in Virginia over a year ago and would like nothing more than to find my forever family.
I’m a big boy at 70 pounds and 7 years old, but I’m really just a big-headed puppy who just wants attention.
I love to play with toys and people. I even roll over to have my belly rubbed. I never potty in my kennel, and know some tricks like “sit” on command. Because I am a big boy, my ideal home would not have small children.
I sometimes get too excited on my walks and want to play. I let you know by nibbling on your hand, but if you use a stern voice, then I will stop.
The nice people here have already fixed my right hip with FHO surgery, but they still need to give me anxiety medication to help my kennel stress and Benadryl and nice soothing baths for my allergies. I’m up-to-date with my vaccines, am already neutered, and am heart worm negative.
Please share my story in hopes that my forever family sees my plea.

Tilly
Troy, VA

Meet TILLY who entered the Troy, Virginia shelter as a stray in July 2017.
TILLY is a medium-sized, 47-pound, healthy, 5 year old who is destined to make the very best companion for a forever family because of her great personality.
TILLY loves going on walks. She is good off-leash with other dogs in play groups, but may be dog selective. She is very timid with new people at first, but becomes extremely outgoing once she gets to know you.
TILLY is spayed, has current vaccines, worming, is heartworm negative, and microchipped.
Consider making TILLY’s dream of a forever family come true and contact the shelter.

Boise Bully Breed Rescue

Leon/Jackson
Troy, VA

Meet LEON/JACKSON who entered the Troy, Virginia shelter last December because his owner could not afford future vet bills.
LEON is a big 70-pound, 4.5 year old sweetheart who is house trained and good with children. He is mostly gentle around everyone, but is a big goofball who doesn’t know his size.
LEON knows ‘sit’ and loves to go outside and play. He has lived with indoor cats. LEON is dog-selective, so will need a proper introduction with any furry siblings.
LEON’S owner paid for surgery in 2016 on the left hind leg (luxating patella), and it healed very well. Although the right knee is fine now, the right leg may need surgery in the future. LEON takes joint supplements daily in the meantime.
If you think that you can give LEON a home where he can remain comfortable, then please reach out to the shelter that has been taking such good care of him for the past year.

Sookie

SOOKIE and her friend were found by the City of Alliance Police Department in early July. Both were in a tiny bathroom in an abandoned trailer in this rural county in the middle of nowhere in northwest Nebraska. Both dogs were brought in and went unclaimed. SOOKIE’s friend was adopted a month ago and now it is SOOKIE’s time to complete her dream of a forever home.
For a puppy, SOOKIE is a very good dog. She is a healthy 1 year old, 55-pound black lab blend who is good with other dogs and good with strangers and has done well with children as young as 4 years old. She knows ‘sit’ and is leash-trained, crate-trained, and good off-leash with other dogs in play groups. We don’t know how she is with cats.
SOOKIE enjoys playing in water and has a high drive for chasing tennis balls.
SOOKIE has not displayed any food, toy, or aggression, in general; however, if a dog is sassy with her she will sass back

Caldwell, ID

MEET MILLER!
MILLER is a handsome, hunky 2 year old, 85-pound Staffordshire Terrier
that arrived at the West Valley Humane Society shelter as a stray in early October.
MILLER has been described as lap-loving, social, and playful. He is a HUGE cuddle bug with lots of love to give! He is easy-going with young kids.
MILLER does well on a leash (watch him waddle!). He is house-trained and crate trained. He would love a home where he can be kept indoors with his family, but have a safe containment area to keep him safe from wondering.
MILLER has been friendly with dogs at the shelter, but chooses his doggy friends wisely, so bring your other family pups for a meet-and-greet.
MILLER was recently selected to be one of the '12 Strays of Christmas' Each stray will go home with a stuffed stocking to open with their new family. \
